Week 1 is finally done! Man that has a good ring to it... I should be a rapper, not really! Where do I begin... I am ADDICTED to Cross Fit in Mt. Washington.. I am a loyal guy so the only Cross fit I will do is with Kyle Harrod ~ Great Motivator and Trainer ~
Let's get one thing straight, I hate taking my picture with a cell phone in a mirror...HATE IT! However, I have to do it. It is important to track your results. Hell, you can't ever make a documentary if you don't have proof of where you came from. So I took a picture on the first day and now at the end of the first week. The only thing I feel has changed is the fact that I can't barely walk up the steps or run right now. Image wise I haven't changed a bit but I am o.k. with that! It is a LONG TERM commitment or like I said last blog, INVESTMENT.
The workout's have been intense and I know my cardio is pathetic. It is definitely a work in progress. What I am proud of today is that I was able to bench 255 twice. I know that isn't too much but my highest max ever was 325 so I am not too far off. Give me about 3 months and I feel I will be back there again.
So what is next, any guesses??? Anyone? What, did someone say diet? ABSOLUTELY! Great job for guessing that correctly. Yes, the next step is a proper diet plan, which I hate the idea of! Remember the theme though, investment... If I work my butt off to look nice and have great cardio, what good is that going to do me if I am eating fast food or ingesting chemicals that shouldn't ever be in food. No good at all... I am meeting with Kyle sometime next week and going over a Paleo diet. I looked into this diet before and really like it so I am excited to begin. Oh, one thing I find hilarious is the fact that people always knock on this diet... It's not good this or its bad for you that... Really? How the heck do you think we ate food over the past, I don't know, 5 million years? I don't think the Geico caveman had McDonalds next to his watering hole. Just saying... Does this diet suck... heck yes it suck... it sucks because I have abused my body with processed foods and sugars and cakes and pies... *cakes and pies, cakes and pies (Momma Klump from Eddie Murphy's Nutty Professor)* So what if this diet sucks, in 6 months I will eventually train my body to maximize all its nutritional values and who knows maybe if I am not putting steroid injected chicken or chemically produced seasoning, then maybe my body will stop aching and start burning all this fat I have and who's to say I won't prolong my life by 10 or 20 years and limit the amount of cancer causing cells in my body. Investment, remember... Just saying.
Now that week 1 is in the books and the muscle stiffness is going away, week 2 I promise to bring more intensity to my work outs and will FIGHT through the urge to eat junk food while on my diet. I will also begin posting my meal plans and might eventually post my work out results month to month. So what I do this month, I will compare to next month. Hopefully I will get some people interested in my blogs but it's not likely... Society and social media has taken "reading blogs" and transformed the mentality of "I enjoy reading blogs" to "Blogs are too long, I like status's better, they are shorter" Sad but true, I am guilty of it as well. After workout ~ My 1st week is done, my muscles are not nearly as sore as they were after the 3rd day. I hate taking my picture but it is so important to do. Not only for tracking results but for personal motivation and after you start to get results you can help motivate others by them seeing your results. So if you plan on working out, please take pictures of yourself...you can keep them to yourself or share them, either way, TAKE THEM!

I tried to get it to show up but it didn't come out like I wanted to... what would have been better is if I was able to take a picture of the back where is says www.kentuckybjj.com that way people would see The Submission Academy's website in case they wanted to visit sometime they would know how to get there.
