Day 1~ Ouch!!
You would think, me being somewhat (emphasis on somewhat) in shape, I would be able to jump right in to a Cross Fit program and excel at it. You would think! Last Saturday I got the burning motivation to invest in my future. You see, in March I will be heading off to Officer Candidate School for the Kentucky Army National Guard in my unwavering attempt to become an outstanding leader. My goal is to help mold and shape the young soldiers into respectable, dependable, and durable human beings. That is my goal! However, being a leader doesn't just consist of knowing what to say, when to say it, and how to say it. Being a leader also means setting the standard, leading by example, and not asking anyone to accomplish ANYTHING that you cannot do yourself. This is the standard of leadership.
So my investment is to become physically and mentally prepared to handle any obstacle put in my way. I will lead from the front and lend a helping hand to pull those up who fall.
Saturday started this investment! With that comes hard work, dedication and a commitment to never quit. Today is Wednesday and my 4th day (off on Sunday) with Kyle Harrod as my mentor and motivator. Every morning I wake up sore, stiff, and barely able to walk up the steps, yet I continue to press on! I continue to invest into my future. I continue to invest in my health. I continue to invest in my leadership abilities to fight through adversity because not only does my life lay in the balance but the lives of ever soldier I personally guide and mentor as they journey through their military career.
I will try to post often and accurately document my eating habits, summary of my work outs, and pictures from Day 1 so that my actions will help inspire all those who read this blog. It is my investment for my life....are you ready to invest also?
